This is an addition to our ongoing series of guides to improve user experience by removing ads, bloats, unwanted system apps and other things. We have another guide to remove system apps from any android device, check out these in our guides section.
How Ads and Bloatware affected in Samsung Phones
In Samsung phones, when it comes to Ads they usually push ads about their services and promotion from some of their services. In terms of bloatware, we have some Samsung apps and they promote a lot of third-party apps on initial setup. They do some clever tricks on the initial setup for people to unknowingly agree to all of these. If we properly set up the phone, disable some of the apps, promotions from apps or uninstall the applications through ADB can easily improve your user experience.
(For most of these steps we have multiple photos – that means the first photo will be the stock setup and next ones will be our recommendations)
1. Select your preferred language and click the blue arrow
2. only select these two one only, avoid the optional one’s have click next
3. Usual setup process
Do the usual android smartphone setup process like connecting to a mobile network or Wi-Fi, restore from your old android device(google backup or Samsung’s use your old phone method) and setup password or biometric authentication
4. toggle off the selected apps if you didn’t need it
5. Toggle off unwanted recommended Apps
In Get recommended section they pre-selected all Samsung Apps, only selected things you are going to use, avoid other one’s
6. Toggle OFF all the recommended apps then click finish
7. just follow the steps here…
Either you can skip it directly or click next on the first slide after selecting your gender, then on the next page just click on continue and select preferred language in the third one.
8. Toggle off My Galaxy and Galaxy Store by following the step
Samsung used a nice trick to hide this permission, I am sure most of us will click skip on the first slide and unknowingly select both two. here we have to first click on the marked area then toggle OFF both My Galaxy and Galaxy store then click apply then click on Done on the first slide instead of skip.
9. Toggle OFF put unused apps to sleep
Sleeping apps will not receive updates or send you notifications. so we will recommend you to turn it Off, if you want it, you can do it later
10. With the above step we have completed the initial setup, but to enhance your user experience do the following steps too
11. Game launcher
