Other than the Galaxy S21 series, the Max Weinbach list comprises premium phones like Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold FE.

Samsung Exynos 2100 is the upcoming flagship mobile processor from the Korean smartphone giant and it will be powering the Global/International Models of S21 series.

As per the new leak from Ice Universe, the Exynos 2100 will be more powerful compared to the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC.

If you follow tech for a while, you would be probably aware that for the past two years Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line SoCs have outperformed their Samsung counterparts in terms of performance, efficiency, gaming, thermal throttling and in terms of ISP(Image signal processor). We made a separate article for issues with Exynos processors a few months ago.

This must be good news for Samsung fans across the world, because, except the US, Canada, China, South Korea, all other countries including India, get Exynos variants of Samsung Flagships.

The S21 Ultra’s camera bump is almost twice the size of the regular S21 and includes up to four camera lenses instead of three on the smaller model.

S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 Display

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ will both feature FHD+ 120hz displays. It is an LTPS panel, so it will not get the advanced adaptive refresh rate feature on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. On the other hand, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with WQHD+(2K) LTPO display with an adaptive refresh rate of 1hz to 120hz. The S21 Ultra will max out at a record 1600 nits peak brightness; by comparison, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.

Galaxy S21 Series expected display design

Samsung will be improving the display’s contrast ratio to 3,000,000:1, as opposed to the 2,000,000:1 on the previous generation. As we mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will offer S Pen support. The stylus will not be included in the box. Instead, Samsung is planning to sell cases that will have slots to carry S Pen. The bezels around the display will be minimal and almost equal in width.

S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 Performance

As usual, powering the devices will be two processors, the unannounced Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 2100. The US, Canada, China and South Korea will get the Snapdragon variant, and the rest of the world will get the Exynos 2100 variant. According to leaks, Exynos 2100 could be “on-par or better than the Snapdragon 875. Also, it will be a more power-efficient chip than prior generations, which will improve battery life.

S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 Connectivity

As expected, Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 875 are 5G compatible chips, So all the Galaxy S21 models will be 5G compatible. Currently, there is no info regarding whether Samsung is working on 4G models of Galaxy S21 series for any region.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the only model to receive Wi-Fi 6E support, which Samsung claims it’s about 2x faster than standard Wi-Fi 6. All of these models will come with the latest Bluetooth 5.1 Standard.

S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 Battery and Fast Charging

The Galaxy S21 will have a 4,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S21+ will clock in at 4800mAh (300mAh more than the current S20+), and the Galaxy S21 Ultra at 5000mAh. All models will support 25W fast charging at a minimum. But leaks couldn’t confirm maximum charging speeds yet, but Galaxy S21 Ultra will support 45W fast charging like S20 Ultra.

S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 Camera

The cameras on the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ are reported to be the same as the Galaxy S20 series. They’ll feature a 12MP primary sensor, 64MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide. Leaks were not able to confirm the specifics of the sensors, but Samsung is likely using the same or similar parts as it did on the Galaxy S20 and S20+.

However, the Galaxy S21 Ultra does have a new camera setup. The primary camera will feature an improved 108MP sensor(HM3) compared to Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Note20 Ultra(HM2). The S21 Ultra will have the same 12MP ultrawide as the Galaxy S21 and S21+ but will feature two telephoto sensors: a 3x optical telephoto and a 10x optical “super” telephoto.

Galaxy S21 Ultra Camera Design

S21 Ultra

Samsung is using larger pixels and dual pixel autofocus on both the 3x and 10x optical lens. According to Ice Universe, It will be the “strongest optical zoom system known”. Samsung will be using laser autofocus on the S21 Ultra, to avoid the focus issues with the S20 Ultra experience. But there will be no ToF(Time of flight) sensors in any Galaxy S21 series.

All of the cameras will support 4K/60fps recording, which was previously limited to the primary sensor. The Super Steady stabilization will also be getting 60fps recording. Just like the Google Pixel, the camera will be able to automatically switch between 30fps and 60fps depending on the lighting conditions.

Other Camera features include 8K 30fps video recording, dual recording mode, where you can record out of the front and rear camera at the same time, improving night mode with more manual controls, etc.

Expected Release Date and Pricing

According to leaks, this year the new Flagship S21 series will be released around mid-January, which is quite earlier compared to typical February or march launch events. Many case makers already started producing Galaxy S21 series also confirms the earlier release.

In terms of pricing, Samsung is also rumoured to be lowering the prices of the upcoming phones to be more competitive and match the recession and global pandemic, but we are not quite sure about that. All around, the Galaxy S21 series does look like a decent improvement of the previous Galaxy S20 series.
