will take on the Amazon Fire TV Stick and can turn your regular tv into smart by bringing support

It’s powered by a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at up to 2.0GHz, an ARM 3+2-core Mali-450 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of eMMC storage. The dongle comes with built-in Chromecast support. The Google Play store for Android TV, allowing users to download and install any of over 5,000 apps available on the platform.

The remote of the Mi TV Stick is identical to that of the Mi Box 4K. It comes with Bluetooth remote control for navigation and other controls with hotkeys for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video built-in. There’s a dedicated Google Assistant button as well for hands-free voice commands. The Mi TV Stick supports WiFi 802.11ac (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks), Bluetooth 4.2, and a micro-USB power port. With a built-in Chromecast, you can easily cast videos and other content from your phone, tablet, or laptop directly to your TV screen in 1080P. Mi TV Stick supports both DTS and Dolby multichannel HD audio decoding to provide smoother, dynamic, immersive, and more realistic stereo surround sound.

Mi TV Stick expected price, availability and competition

Mi TV Stick only comes in just Black colour. Mi TV Stick only supports full HD playback instead of 4K streaming like the Mi Box 4K. Which suggests the company might be targeting the budget segment. Mi TV Stick is priced at EUR 39.99 (approximately Rs. 3,500) in Europe, but could be priced much lower in India, considering Mi Box 4K is priced at Rs. 3,499 in India. We expect a price tag of Rs.2500. In terms of competition,  the Amazon Fire TV Stick is the main one, which is priced at Rs. 3,999 in India and has similar capabilities and app support to the Mi TV Stick. Xiaomi would likely try to undercut the Amazon Fire TV Stick and go up against similar offerings from Airtel, Tata Sky, and others. More details will be revealed on August 5, and we will cover it in our news section.
