Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro Design Leaks, Expected Specs, and Launch date

Xiaomi is expected to launch its next-generation flagship Mi 11 series on December 29, 2020. Unlike Galaxy S21 and OnePlus 9 Series, we still do not have a clear idea of the final specs and no. of devices Xiaomi will launch on that day. Maybe Xiaomi is not interested in the intentional leaks done by many brands like OnePlus to create the hype.

Here in this article, we are trying to share everything we know about the Xiaomi Mi 11 series to date and other expected specs on the upcoming flagship devices.

December 29th launch date?

Typically flagship devices with the new Snapdragon 800 series chipset launch in February or March. But according to leaks, many brands are going to launch new Snapdragon 888 equipped devices in January. Xiaomi Mi 11 series will be the first flagships to launch with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 SoC as confirmed by Lei Jun.

Many leaks confirm the January 14 th launch event of Samsung’s S21 series means Mi 11 series should release before January 14 th. Recently Gizmochina confirmed the December 29 th launch date for Xiaomi Mi11 series.

Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and even Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro+ is Possible.

Xiaomi will launch the standard Mi 11 and a Pro model (Mi 11 Pro) like last year. Some leaks suggest another device with top of the line specs and possibly called Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro+, but we are not sure about the third device’s existence.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Expected Specs, Design, and Pricing.

The Standard  Xiaomi Mi 11 is expected to feature a four curved screen with a punch hole on the display’s top-left corner. The curves on the top and bottom chin will be minimal, and the curves of the sides will be similar to Xiaomi Mi 10 Series.

We have no clear idea about the dimensions, but it is expected to be near to 6.67inches. It is likely to sport a 10-bit FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is likely to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus or Gorilla Glass 6.

Xiaomi Mi 11 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest 5nm Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is about 25% faster compared to Snapdragon 865+. Along with Snapdragon 888, the Mi 11 series will come with LPDDR5 Ram and UFS 3.1 Storage.

Xiaomi Mi 11 will equip a triple camera setup on the back along with an LED flashlight horizontally stacked inside a squircle housing. The triple-camera array will likely have a 108MP main camera, 13MP/16MP/20MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP telephoto/5MP macro sensor. The main 108MP sensor should be the latest HM2 from Samsung, but I wish Xiaomi may be gone with a custom made 48 MP OmniVision sensor from Mi 10 Ultra. They have got much better reviews than any 108 MP implementation from Xiaomi.

In terms of battery capacity, Xiaomi Mi 11 will come with 4970 mAh(~5000mAh) and 55W wired charging, capable of fully charging the device in under 35 minutes. In terms of wireless charging, the device is likely to come with either 30W or 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Xiaomi Mi 11 will be available in 8/12GB RAM and 128/256/512GB storage options. Xiaomi Mi 11 is expected to start around 3,999 yuan in china(~45,000)

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro Expected Specs and Pricing

Compared to Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro will have a higher resolution display, faster charging, and a better camera system. According to leaks, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro is expected to feature a 10-bit 2K+(QHD+) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of camera, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will be equipped with a quad-camera system similar to Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, which is considered one of the best camera smartphones right now and maybe the best camera hardware on any smartphone out there.

Accordingly, there will be a primary 48MP OmniVision OV48C sensor, 20MP ultra-wide, 12MP Telephoto with 2x optical zoom, and a 48MP Periscope lens with 10X optical zoom. In terms of the front camera, Xiaomi probably upgrades the 20MP sensor from the Xiaomi Mi 10 series for a better quality one(but it may be the same/lower/higher megapixel sensor.

In terms of battery capacity, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will come with a dual-cell battery with a total capacity of around 4780 mAh. It will come with 120W wired fast charging, capable of fully charging the device under 25 minutes, and supports 100W+ QC 5.0, QC4+, and PD 3.0 Standard.

In terms of wireless charging, it is likely to come with either 80W/50W wireless charging, and it is expected from the leading smartphone manufacturer in the charging technology. It will also support 10W reverse wireless charging like standard Mi 11.

The rest of the specs will be very similar to Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, likely to be priced around 5,299 yuan( ~60,000) in China.

In terms of Software, both Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro will come with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out-of-the-box.
